C.I.S. Intelligence Note: Start With the Decision

Before collecting more information, define the decision it is expected to improve.

Why this matters

Offers one concise practice that can improve research, meetings and technology choices immediately.

Explore note →

One question. Several ways to understand it.

Start with a focused pathway, then move between original writing, expert conversations and practical reflection.

Start with the decision.

More information is not automatically more intelligence.

Before beginning research, arranging another meeting or introducing an AI tool, define the decision the activity is expected to improve. A clear decision gives information a purpose. It helps people distinguish what is relevant from what is merely available—and makes it possible to ask afterwards whether the work changed anything.

Practical question: What decision will this information allow us to make differently?

Receive occasional C.I.S. Intelligence Notes.

New ideas, selected conversations and practical strategic questions. Considered and occasional—not a high-volume newsletter.
